Super Cobra and Huey Collided in the Air - 7 U.S. Marines Killed

Seven U.S. Marine Corps soldiers were reported killed, after two military helicopters collided while running a night battle practice in complex military exercises near the town of Yuma, Arizona, USA, Wednesday (22/02/2012) evening local time.


Lt. Maureen Dooley of Miramar Air Base, California, said the two helicopters AH-1W helicopter assault Super Cobra and UH-1Y helicopter Huey transport, collided in the air while running a routine training operation on Wednesday at around 20:00 local time.

U.S. defense officials said the cause of the collision is still under investigation and the names of new victims will be published at a fast 24 hours after the accident occurred. U.S. Marines said the party, the remote crash site is located in the interior of the military training complex, located near the border state of Arizona and California. (Reuters / AP / AFP / DHF)
