German President Christian Wulff Resign

BERLIN - German President Christian Wulff yielding to pressure, addressed to him and chose to resign today.

Announcement of his resignation was related to the morning, German time at Bellevue Castle, in his official residence.

Previous 52-year-old president reportedly turned his attention to the scandal, who said he had received financial assistance from a businessman. In fact, the aid was long before he served as President of Germany.

In his resignation announcement that Wulff said Germany needs a president who not only has the confidence of the majority political circles, but also the confidence of the majority of the German people.

"For that reason I feel unworthy of longer serving as President," Wulff said Friday as quoted by the Global Post, (17.02.2012).

After the scandal broke him in recent weeks, confidence in the German people against Wulff went down drastically.

Meanwhile, Horst Seehofer of the Christian Social Union Party (CSU) will replace Wulff as President of Germany.
