Unemployment in Italy Reaches High Scores


Italian National Agency for Statistics (ISTAT) released the latest data about unemployment. In fact, around 2.5 million Italian citizens currently do not have a job. This figure is the highest since January 2004.


According to Xinhua reported on Wednesday (05/02/2012), a year ago, the unemployment rate in Italy rose 23.4 percent. In the period January 2004 through March 2012, an increase in the unemployment rate is the amount of 9.8 percent.
ISTAT also warned that the unemployment rate among youth has arrived at a dangerous point. Now, in Italy, one in three young people aged between 15-24 years are unemployed.
